As a member of L.A. Care Health Plan, you can call a team of professional nurses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The nurse will answer your health care questions so you can take care of yourself or your family.
The nurses will help you in your language at no cost to you. Your nurse advice line number is listed on your health plan ID card.

When you call the Nurse Advice Line, you can also choose to get information about a health issue through the Health Education Audio Reference Library By selecting the option "Listen to a Health Topic", you can hear pre-recorded discussions that answer questions about concerns like asthma, first aid and over 100 other topics. You can access the audio reference library 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You can call the Nurse Advice Line 24 hours a day, 7 days per week for any health related question. If you have specific questions about ongoing treatment, you should call your physician's office. Nurse Advice Line does not replace your physician's office.
When you first call, a Health Resource Coordinator will ask you questions about the reason for your call. Based on your need, you will be connected immediately to a nurse to give you the health advice you need.
Our nurses are trained professionals who can help with health related concerns or advise you on what to do next, including helping you to get urgent or emergency level care.
If possible, please have the patient's L.A Care identification number when you call. If you're calling for another L.A. Care member that is a member of your family or a friend, that person should be with you in case the advice nurse has questions about that member's condition.

When you call 1-800-249-3619 you also have an option to access the Health Education Audio Reference Library. This service allows you listen to pre-recorded health topic discussions in English or Spanish.
